5/9-5/13
Exam will be over Chapter 11 and Case Studies for 9, 10, and 11. It will be a take-home exam and Due Monday 5/18 (Talk to me if that is a problem, please)
5/2-5/6
We will complete Ch 11 this week, take a field trip Monday study for the exam Tuesday and take the exam Wednesday and Thursday next week. Any make-up work can be done Friday the 13th to Wednesday the 18th.
4/25-4/29
We will review Chapter 10, do some activities around Money and Relationships and Test on Chapter 10. We will also begin Chapter 11 videos on Career and Taxes. Students should update their resumes so they can have them ready to apply for jobs in college or over the summer if they have not already done so.
4/18-4/22
We will watch chapter 10 videos and talk about relationships and money this week. Ask your student about our insurance conversations, especially about term vs. investment life insurance policies. There is a good graph on p 202 in the book on this. Worth a look!
4/11-4/15
This week we will work on completing Chapter 9. Test is Thursday! Ch 8 Case Studies due Monday. We will also have a guest speaker on Friday about how to purchase insurance!

This week we will watch all the videos on Chapter 9 for Insurance and take notes.
3/21-3/24
Welcome Back! This week we will do activities for Chapter 8 with Investments and Retirement and begin watching videos on Chapter 9-Insurance.

Happy Pi Day to all! Well, we actually did not get to celebrate it yet, because I was out for a family funeral, but I promised the students we would make up this day with some activities and pie in a few weeks when we get going into 4th quarter! Wow! I can't believe it is already here, but it is and this next few days is crunch time for turning in missing assignments. If your child has been ill or missed an assignment, I will take them up until Monday for getting my grades entered for 3rd quarter. If you see an incomplete grade, it means your child is still working on make-ups. We have had a rough few weeks with illness. I hope you enjoy your long weekend! See you all Monday! We will have our ACSI team in the building Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Welcome them if you see them! :)

We worked on studying Investing and Retirement this week. Students will finish videos Friday and review Monday.

This week we will Test on Chapter 7 and Begin Chapter 8.

This week we will finish videos on Chapter 7 and gain wisdom on bargain shopping with some activities to help us compare prices.

This week, we completed a test on Chapter 6 and also worked on activities all week about credit cards and their dangers.
2/1-2/5
We will finish Chapter 6 in the workbook and review for the test. We will also celebrate a breakfast food day on Friday and have a devotion and prayer time.

We began Chapter 6 on Consumerism and "Buyer Beware"! Read all side-bars and graphs. Ask yourself why you are buying something when you are. Is it because you need it, want it or feel like you should have it because marketing is telling you to buy it?

This week is completion of exams and homecoming prep! We will get back to it Friday with a Debt Snowball project. Enjoy the Homecoming activities Thursday-Sat.
1/11-1/15
This week we will complete the mid-term exam up to Chapter 5. Students will define the most important terms we have learned so far in class, role-model being a financial advisor to 5 different scenarios using important terms and ideas, and show understanding of Chapter 5 for their exams.
No School Friday or Monday. All missing assignments are due Thursday.
1/4-1/8
Welcome back! We will be going over Chapter 5 on life after high school, including college financial aid applications and life opportunities to match personal gifting.
Students should prepare for the Mid-Term exam for next week by reading all the side-bars in Chapter 5 and completing Money In Review by Thursday. We will review in class Thursday, Friday and Monday. The last day to turn in late work is Thursday next week.

We will do a few assignments on debt and complete the chapter 4 test after reviewing.
The exam in January will be over the previous tests and the workbook. There will not be much review needed. They may use their text for the exam and just make sure they are familiar with the info. in each chapter. :) Have a great break! Merry Christmas!
